Back-office-API

Key benefits

Less manual reconciliation and fewer spreadsheets

Faster, more accurate reporting

Better traveler communication with always up-to-date itineraries

How it works

Replace manual, time-intensive operations by integrating directly with a back-office API to automate your systems to:

  • Receive booking creation, changes, and cancellations as they happen.
  • Get details on commissions and agency service charges with every update.
  • Access a real-time view of expected earnings to support day-to-day tracking.
  • Embed TAAP information into the tools you already use for itinerary management, reporting, and finance.

The API supports both models—direct integration for agencies with in-house capabilities, or delivery via a mid- or back-office technology partner.

FAQs

|

Where can I learn more about the back-office API and review technical documentation?

You can review documentation including the full list of core and ancillary fields and their availability, on the Expedia Group Developer Hub here (select Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP) on the side menu). Please note that a subset of data points will be delivered in real time, while some ancillary information will be added by further push events.

Can I use the back-office API to search or make bookings on Expedia TAAP?

No. The back-office API is a post-booking solution only, designed to deliver TAAP booking and earnings updates into the operational systems your agency already uses. It does not support searching or booking. All search and booking activities continue to take place on the Expedia TAAP website.

Can I use the back-office API earnings data for financial reconciliation and invoicing?

The back-office API (and Expedia TAAP Reports) gives you a near real-time view of expected earnings to support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and forecasting. While these values typically do not deviate significantly from the final amounts, they should be treated as indicative only. For financial reconciliation, invoicing, and accounting, agencies should continue to rely on their monthly Earnings Statement as the source of record.

What technology partners are already integrated with the back-office API?

If your agency works with a mid-office or back-office provider, you can already access the Expedia TAAP back-office API through the following integrated technology partners:

  • Z.I.E.L. GmbH
  • Travel Ledger
  • Mb3M
  • TravelNote
